- The front, the back, the signature, and any labels or stamps on the frame or stretcher. Phone photographs are fine.
- Size and medium
- Height and width, and whether it is a painting, a print, a photograph or a work on paper.
- What you know of it
- Where and when it came to you, with any invoices, certificates or correspondence that came with it.
