Antoine Rose is a Belgian photographer whose best-known body of work is made from a helicopter, looking straight down at beaches, pools and coastlines so that bathers, umbrellas and boats flatten into pattern against sand and water. The series Up In The Air is the core of it. The pictures work as abstraction first and only resolve into people at close range, which is the whole device.
The market is editioned photographic prints, and these are typically issued in several sizes with different edition sizes attached to each — so size and edition number together determine value rather than either alone. Most are face-mounted behind acrylic at considerable scale, which is heavy, costly to ship and easily scratched, and those are real costs to factor into a sale route. Certificates and edition documentation are essential and should never be parted from the print.
