Kenny Schachter is an American who has spent decades inside the art market from several directions at once — dealing, curating, teaching and writing a long-running and famously indiscreet column about the trade. He also makes work, including painting, digital output and furniture-adjacent objects, and the practice is difficult to separate from the commentary: much of it is about the market it circulates in, which is either the point or the problem depending on who is asked.
