What a work by Tomo Campbell is worth

Send photographs and whatever paperwork came with it. The first question is what the work actually is — edition or unique, when, and in what condition — because everything else follows from the answer. A valuation is free, made online from the photographs you send, and it commits you to nothing. We act for sellers across the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.

Bio

Tomo Campbell was born in London in 1988 and took a BA at Central Saint Martins in 2010. From 2012 to 2013 he was the first artist in residence at the English National Ballet. He lives and works in London. His large oil paintings take traditional subjects, hunting scenes, parades and explorers, and break them down into layered arrangements of complementary colours, reminiscent of the Rococo, with several focal points that keep the eye moving. He has said that he tries to make the paint vibrate, so that it looks light and delicate and on the point of shifting, and that his subjects are never quite solid or whole. He has had solo exhibitions at Cob Gallery in London, Double Q Gallery in Hong Kong and County Gallery in Palm Beach, Florida, and has shown in group exhibitions at Timothy Taylor in London, Bo Lee and Workman in Bruton, Makasiini Contemporary in Turku and The Burberry Art Space in Korea. His work is in the DLA Piper Art Collection and the Simon Nixon Collection.

His works are oil paintings on canvas, many of them large, and there are also editions. Check thick, layered paint for cracking and scuffs, and keep the title, the date and the gallery invoice with the work.
