Endless valuation
Took the visual language of luxury fashion advertising and put it on London walls.
Endless is a London street artist working anonymously since the late 2000s, whose subject is the imagery of fashion and luxury branding — logos, perfume bottles, advertising poses — restaged as graffiti. The work sits in the tradition that runs through Warhol to the street: appropriating the surfaces of commerce and returning them slightly altered. The murals appeared across Shoreditch and the West End, and the studio work followed the audience.
The market divides into unique works on canvas, spray and mixed media, and screenprint editions, with the editions generally hand-finished in part, which means no two are identical and condition is judged accordingly. Hand-finishing is also where misdescription occurs most often, since a standard impression and a hand-finished one from the same edition are different objects. Certificates and the publisher's paperwork settle it, and are worth locating before a work is offered anywhere.
