What a work by Olafur Eliasson is worth
Send photographs and whatever paperwork came with it. The first question is what the work actually is — edition or unique, when, and in what condition — because everything else follows from the answer. A valuation is free, made online from the photographs you send, and it commits you to nothing. We act for sellers across the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.

Bio
Olafur Eliasson was born in Copenhagen in 1967, grew up in Iceland and Denmark, and studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1989 to 1995. In 1995 he moved to Berlin and founded Studio Olafur Eliasson, which now takes in craftspeople, architects, researchers, programmers and art historians. His installations, sculptures, paintings, photographs and films use elemental materials such as light, water and air temperature to heighten the viewer's experience. He represented Denmark at the 50th Venice Biennale in 2003, and later that year installed The Weather Project, an artificial sun shrouded in mist, in the Turbine Hall of Tate Modern. His public projects include Green River, carried out in several cities between 1998 and 2001, the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion of 2007, designed with the architect Kjetil Thorsen, and The New York City Waterfalls of 2008. In 2012 he co-founded Little Sun, which makes solar-powered lamps, and in 2014 he and Sebastian Behmann founded the office for art and architecture Studio Other Spaces. His survey In Real Life opened at Tate Modern in 2019 and travelled to the Guggenheim Bilbao in 2020.
His work ranges from large installations to sculptures, paintings and photographic series. Works with light, mirrors or moving parts may need their components and installation instructions, so keep the certificate, any technical documents and the gallery invoice together, and check that lamps, motors and glass are complete and working.
