What a work by Sarah Sze is worth

Send photographs and whatever paperwork came with it. The first question is what the work actually is — edition or unique, when, and in what condition — because everything else follows from the answer. A valuation is free, made online from the photographs you send, and it commits you to nothing. We act for sellers across the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.

Bio

Sarah Sze was born in Boston in 1969. She graduated from Yale University in 1991 with a BA in architecture and painting and took an MFA at the School of Visual Arts in New York in 1997, and she is a professor of visual arts at Columbia University. Her installations assemble great numbers of cheap, everyday objects, with images, projections and light, into intricate, seemingly suspended structures that explore technology, information and memory, and how ordinary things can carry meaning in a museum. She has shown at the Whitney Biennial, the Carnegie International and the Venice Biennale, where she represented the United States in 2013, and she received a MacArthur Fellowship in 2003. Her public commissions include works for the High Line in New York, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Walker Art Center.

Besides installations she makes sculptures, works on paper and paintings. Pieces built from many small elements should be checked for completeness against the certificate and any installation instructions, and a gallery invoice and the date of the work should go with them.
