What a work by Bruce Nauman is worth
Send photographs and whatever paperwork came with it. The first question is what the work actually is — edition or unique, when, and in what condition — because everything else follows from the answer. A valuation is free, made online from the photographs you send, and it commits you to nothing. We act for sellers across the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.

Bio
Bruce Nauman was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1941. He studied mathematics and physics at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and then art at the University of California, Davis, under William T. Wiley and Robert Arneson, and in 1964 he gave up painting for sculpture, performance and film. Soon after graduating he concluded that if he was an artist in the studio, whatever he was doing there must be art, which made art an activity rather than a product, and his work since has ranged across sculpture, photography, neon, video, drawing, printmaking and performance, often using his own body and language as material. He signed with the dealer Leo Castelli in 1968. He won the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale in 1999, and he lives near Galisteo, New Mexico.
His output includes prints, drawings and editioned neons and sculptures as well as unique works and video installations. Neons need working transformers and careful packing, and should come with their certificate and any installation instructions. Prints should be checked against the published details of his editions.
