Dave White is a British painter from Liverpool whose subjects have moved from the sneaker — a body of work that made his name in the 2000s and connected him to streetwear culture — through to wildlife, and particularly endangered species and birds of prey. The handling is consistent across the subjects: heavily loaded, drip-laden oil and acrylic that stays legible as paint while describing the animal precisely.
Unique paintings on canvas lead, with watercolours and works on paper alongside, and a substantial body of giclée and screenprint editions. The editions are numerous and issued in different sizes and papers, so identifying which release a sheet belongs to is routine but necessary work.
