Bio
Anna Weyant was born in Calgary in 1995 and graduated in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2017, then moved to New York. Her figurative paintings combine the dark grounds, smooth finish and still-life detail of the Dutch Golden Age with the attitude of contemporary popular culture, often showing young women in moody, slightly absurd situations; she has named the Dutch masters and John Currin among her influences. She was represented by Blum & Poe before joining Gagosian in 2022, and in 2024 she painted the model Kaia Gerber for the December cover of Vogue. In 2025 the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid gave her an exhibition.
Her paintings first came to auction in 2022, and the resale of work so soon after it was made drew attention to how galleries place it. Provenance through her galleries and the date and route of any earlier sale are the first questions.

Her painting Falling Woman of 2020 is on the cover of Jen Beagin's novel Big Swiss of 2023.
In 2025 she was named to the host committee of the 2026 Met Gala.
