Gregory de la Haba is an American interdisciplinary artist, writer and curator from Astoria, Queens. He paints in a classical figurative tradition and puts it to work in a conceptual practice that keeps returning to addiction, contemporary masculinity and the Spanish idea of duende. His McSorley's Sketchbook series, drawn in one of New York's oldest taverns, was shown at New York University's Glucksman Ireland House in 2004 with a catalogue essay by Frank McCourt, and he has exhibited in the United States and Europe.
