What a work by Michel Majerus is worth
Send photographs and whatever paperwork came with it. The first question is what the work actually is — edition or unique, when, and in what condition — because everything else follows from the answer. A valuation is free, made online from the photographs you send, and it commits you to nothing. We act for sellers across the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.

Bio
Michel Majerus (1967–2002) was born in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, and studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart from 1986 to 1992. In 1992 he co-founded the artist group 3K-NH with fellow Stuttgart students, and in 1993 he moved to Berlin, where he lived and worked. Painting was his main medium, but he sampled freely from popular culture and art history: computer games, cartoons, brand logos, song lyrics and quotations from de Kooning, Warhol and Basquiat. He also painted installations that surround the viewer, among them the façade of the main pavilion in the Giardini at the 1999 Venice Biennale and his largest work, If You Are Dead, So It Is, a skateboard ramp covering some 370 square metres, made for the Kölnischer Kunstverein in 2000. His MoM Block series, begun in 1996, runs to more than 170 canvases. The Kunsthalle Basel gave him a solo exhibition in 1996, he took part in Manifesta 2 in 1998, and the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin, Tate Liverpool and the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart have all shown his work.
His works include paintings in acrylic on canvas, enamel and silkscreen on aluminium, and parts of larger installations, some in several panels or parts. A buyer will want the title, date and number of parts, a gallery invoice, and confirmation that every panel is present and undamaged.
