What a work by Avery Singer is worth
Send photographs and whatever paperwork came with it. The first question is what the work actually is — edition or unique, when, and in what condition — because everything else follows from the answer. A valuation is free, made online from the photographs you send, and it commits you to nothing. We act for sellers across the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.

Bio
Avery Singer was born in New York in 1987, studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt in 2008 and took her BFA at Cooper Union in 2010, where she first came across SketchUp, the 3D modelling software used by architects. She builds her compositions in software of this kind, then airbrushes them on to canvas with a computer-controlled printer originally designed to put logos on lorries and aeroplanes. The early paintings are grey, with blocky digital figures acting out scenes from the art world, and later work brings in colour. Hauser & Wirth has represented her since 2020.
The paintings are unique even though a machine lays down the paint, and they are often large. An airbrushed surface has no texture to hide a mark, so scuffs, fingerprints and damage at the edges show clearly and are hard to repair. Much of the work has passed through a small number of galleries, Kraupa-Tuskany Zeidler in Berlin, Gavin Brown's Enterprise and Hauser & Wirth, and their invoices are the usual documentation. Title and date separate the early grey pictures from the later ones.
