What a work by Ged Quinn is worth
Send photographs and whatever paperwork came with it. The first question is what the work actually is — edition or unique, when, and in what condition — because everything else follows from the answer. A valuation is free, made online from the photographs you send, and it commits you to nothing. We act for sellers across the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.

Bio
Ged Quinn was born in Liverpool in 1963 and studied at the Ruskin School of Art and St Anne's College in Oxford, at the Slade in London, at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. He was also a member of the new wave bands the Teardrop Explodes, the Wild Swans and the Lotus Eaters, and co-wrote the Lotus Eaters' hit of 1983, The First Picture of You. His allegorical paintings borrow the idyllic landscapes of Claude Lorrain and Caspar David Friedrich and set in them images from the darker episodes of Western history: in Cross in the Wilderness a miniature Spandau Prison stands in a forest taken from Friedrich, and Darkening of the Green places the Maze prison in a rural landscape. He has exhibited at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, the Bass Museum in Miami Beach and the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, and lives and works in Britain.
His paintings are highly finished oils on canvas, so surface condition and any retouching matter. A gallery invoice and the date of the work should accompany it.
